Skills Somerset is a skills and careers event for 14-19 year olds. The November 2009 event was a great success and one of the biggest event of its kind in the county. The event informed and inspired young people with hands on features, activities and demonstrations offering a real insight into a host of different careers, whatever their ability or ambition. Book Your Group

All schools and colleges in Somerset are invited to attend with years 10,11,12 or 13. Transport will be arranged and funded, subject to availability, so early booking is advised.

Organised groups under 50 will be given a £50 bursary towards the cost of arranging their own travel.

We recommend you select the appropriate year and bring the whole group to ensure students do not miss this fantastic opportunity. Group visits take a lot of organisation and mean changes to the timetable but we think your school or college will reap the rewards.

We will try to accommodate your preferred time slot but this cannot be guaranteed.

When all the time slots are full you will be sent a letter with confirmation of your arrival and departure times.

Approximately 6 weeks before the event you will receive a pre-event lesson plan and preparation materials to ensure you and your students get the most from your visit. This will be sent together with guidelines for your visit.
